Tips For Selling Yourself On YOU


It’s not an easy thing to do – sell yourself on you.  However, it’s probably one of the most crucial things you can do.  ESPECIALLY “in times like these.”

Why?

If you’re NOT selling yourself on you, then someone else is selling you on their PLAN for you.  And that my friends, is usually… never a good thing.

Listen… in the short term, you have to do what you have to do to survive.  Yes.  BUT in the long term, you have got to find a way every single day to keep true to who you are. And that takes a consistent amount of selling (on your part).

How?

Step 1 – Develop your own affirmation.

An “affirmation” in my opinion, is something you say over and over again that incorporates something to get rid of that voice inside your head that is constantly tearing you down. Whether you say it in the morning, afternoon, or night makes no difference.

However, the more you say it, the more you’ll feel it.

Step 2 – Pat yourself on the back.

I used to be a victim of this.  Never stopping and celebrating.  Never patting myself on the back.  Always moving onto the next thing.

However, it’s vital to look at what you’ve done and accomplished already.  It instills a sort of self love and appreciation for who you are and what you’ve done and only perpetuates more accomplishments to come.

I understand that most people/work environments don’t do this enough and think… “hey you should be lucky to even have a job.”  That isn’t enough.

Step 3 - Focus more on what you want (and less on what you don’t want).

So many things can come in the way of living your life nowadays.  Credit card debt. House payments.  Looking for a job.  Divorce.  Twitter.  Facebook.  Friends. School. Bills.

But never take your eye off the ball.  Each morning you should visualize and bring into your body the feeling of having already attained what you want.

And listen…  I know someone may think, “Oh yeah whatever.”  But seriously, this isn’t a bunch of hokey pokey stuff (this is how I attained AND kept my own physical transformation – as seen somewhere around here).

Of course I did the steps towards achieving and keeping it, but if I didn’t and STILL don’t visualize what I want at least once each day…  I would be SOLD on someone else’s plan (for my lack of one).

But honestly, this isn’t really about me…  it’s ALL about you.  So give it a try.  See the results.  Then see whose doing the selling.

Hopefully, it’s you (and not someone else).
