How Do You Keep The Fat Off During the Holidays?

For those that don’t know, I was a former Ace Certified Personal Trainer and went through my own personal transformation. So I consider myself an expert in this area, using my own warped skills in psychology and self – improvement to get and keep some pretty amazing results almost 10 years later.

So here are a few quick tips and insights into what REALLY works on keeping the fat off during the holidays:

Quick Tip One: Go into the store with a list AND with cash (leave debit/credit cards at home). Why? For one, you only spend what is on the list.

Secondly, if you only spend what is on the list, you get what you need not what you want and leave the extra pounds at home.

Quick Tip Two: Manage your reaction, not what you’re eating. Many people aren’t aware HOW they communicate to themselves the instant before a “craving.”

For instance, my girlfriend gets a bit upset when she makes something and I say, “Oh, it’s ok.” Guess what? There is a reason for that.

Emotional intensity for ANYTHING, right before you want it… will communicate to your brain how much you “crave” it. Turn down the emotional energy right before you “crave” it, and you won’t.

Try it.

Quick Tip Three: Replace a naughty treat with an un – naughty one. Love cheesecake? Replace it with a cookie. Love cookies? Replace it with a cracker. Love Turkey? Don’t eat it (just kidding – but I think you get my point).
