Coming Out of The Closet You Put Yourself In
I would say that one of the most difficult things to do, is to finally admit to yourself who you really are. Despite what your family thinks. Despite the money you may or may not make. Despite the fact that you might lose all of your friends. Despite the fact that you might be alone for a short time.
But from personal experience, it’s one of the most freeing things anyone can do for themselves OR the world. So here are a few things to help you come out of the closet you unconsciously put yourself in:
1 – Stop ignoring the voice inside your head. Listen, when it comes down to it, you know what you want to do but you’ve been lying to yourself for so long, that you’ve started to believe in those lies. Don’t.
2 – If people think you are crazy, great! You’re on the right track. It’s the “normal” people you want to watch out for that could drag you down into their own misery.
And how is it that if you don’t agree with all the other people you work with on how swamped and miserable you are, they look at you funny? Is this complete bullshit or what!?!?!?
Just to keep your job and let people know how busy you are, you SHOULD NOT have to tell everyone how miserable and busy you are just to avoid looking like a “slacker.”
3 – Take down the bull by the horns or any other way. How? Look at yourself in the mirror and ask, “Do I TRULY like myself and what I’m doing?”
If not, it’s time to come out of the closet you’ve been putting yourself in. How? Admit to the world who you REALLY are by what you do and how you live your life (not by what you say or tell people).
