The Book

The Poet and the Billionaire

I’m honestly not sure how crazy or ridiculous this sounds… but since you’re here, I wanted to ask you a really random question that random strangers might randomly ask.  :)

If you had the chance to ask a an AMAZING individual a series of questions that would change your life forever…  what would you ask?  In return, what would they say (that is so life altering)?

Believe it or not…  I had that very chance.

So what would you do with it?

What I did was spend the next six years of my life asking him how the heck he got to where he is.  Not only that, I asked him what he thought I should do to get out of the crappy situation I was constantly finding myself in.

And do you know what the crazy thing was out of all of this?  He actually took the time to answer all of my questions (later becoming my ULTIMATE mentor).

“All the motivational books are so over-edited and slicked out, they are hard to believe.  But yours, my friend, it has got the soul of the saxophone player standing on the street corner who depends on a few coins in a hat and his first love, music.”

-Chaz Desimone, Los Angeles, CA

I asked “The Billionaire” a ton of things – questions like:

*What if life is overwhelming at times, what do you do?

*How do you know when the right time is to make a major transition with your life?

*What do you ask yourself before you proceed with a new business venture?

*How have you worked on yourself to get the things you want?

*What are the specifics that you did, to get to where you are?

*What about those who want immediate results – is there a short cut?

*What did you SPECIFICALLY do when you were nowhere near living the life you wanted to lead?

*What are the small steps you do each day (the “baby steps”) that is responsible for your “success?”

*What if you don’t have any support from anyone but still want to accomplish some amazing things?  What then?

*Why should we “seek counsel?”

*How do you know what the right thing is to do (with your life)?  Is this all just a mental game?

*Is this more about me?

*Where can one meet someone like you?

*Why do I have a transition of friends and have some that just drop out of my life?

*How do I attract better people into my life?

Here’s a little sample of what he actually said to me – sent directly from his cell phone, to my computer (minus my music of course).

#34 (The Process)

“Your book has helped me to get back on track, learn from my experiences and build my confidence back up… I’m feeling positive about the future again.”

-Chris Biggs, London, England

So here it is, 1,200 of those “voice emails” sent back and forth over the course of 6 years we realized something huge… we were writing a book and didn’t even know it!
