Thanks Trece. Always great connecting with people on a similar path (as my girlfriend and I are moving out of California to do similar things). Brainstorming ways to have your husband retire at 62 sounds AMAZING – so good for you in finding ways in how to do that.

Enjoy your column, and particularly like this list. Just the concept (that we can (should?) change things that are negatively impacting us) is freeing. How many times are we told to “make the best of things”, instead of brainstorming how we can affect changes for the better.
My husband and I are brainstorming ways to free him to retire in 1.5 years, at 62. We do not want to stay in the Northeast, so we are looking at other areas and pondering ways to bring in income from home. Thanks for the ispiration!!

I LOVE new things! great list :~D i’m going to check out Pandora. i am a musician so this will be a great resource. i just made drummerworld.com my homepage which was a new thing i did this week, in the spirit of what you have written here, and the thing is this, i would get online and msn.com would show up with (bad)news and junk that i don’t want as a staple in my mental diet, so now i have drummerworld.com so instead, i check in and watch a video of some groove i want to learn, i get totally inspired, and my day is off to a good start- plus, i am practising more because i am inspired and have new stuff to work on. one small change. haha!
